Ran Samwad: Tri-Services Seminar

The Ministry of Defence is organising a first Tri-Services Seminar, “Ran Samwad-Conversations on War, Warfare, and Warfighting,” at the Army War College in Mhow (Dr. Ambedkar Nagar).
-
The seminar will focus on the Impact of Technology on Warfare.
Two sub-themes:
-
Emerging Technologies and Impact on Future Warfare
-
Reforms in Institutionalised Training to Catalyse Technological Enablement.

New IIM in Guwahati
-
Amendment in the Indian Institutes of Management Act, 2017 to establish the Indian Institute of Management at Guwahati in Assam which is an important centre of the North-Eastern region of the country.
-
A financial grant of 550 crore rupees has been allocated for IIM Guwahati.
-
21 IIMs are presently working in the country.
-
The bill has been passed in Lok Sabha.

B. Sudershan Reddy: INDI alliance’s Vice-Presidential candidate

Former Supreme Court Judge B. Sudershan Reddy as the candidate for the Vice-Presidential election from the INDI Alliances.

Asian Shooting Championship

Rashmika Sahgal has won gold, India’s third individual gold medal in Junior Women’s Air Pistol at

the 16th Asian Shooting Championship.

Overall, India has won five gold, two silver and four bronze medals from all competitions held.

Also, she combined with Vanshika Chaudhary (573) and Mohini Singh (565) to win the team gold.

Manu Bhaker won bronze medal and also won a team bronze in women’s air pistol Palak and Suruchi Phogat.

Girish Gupta has clinched gold in the 10m air pistol men youth event of the 16th Asian Shooting Championship in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.

Nepal Achieves Rubella Elimination

The World Health Organization (WHO) has officially declared Nepal free of Rubella.
-
Nepal is now the sixth country in the WHO South-East Asia Region to eliminate rubella, reinforcing the region’s commitment to disease control by 2026.
