Thailand Prime Minister - Anutin Charnvirakul

Thailand’s parliament has elected business tycoon Anutin Charnvirakul as the country’s new prime minister, making him the third person to hold the position in the past two years.

He succeeds Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who was removed from office by the Constitutional Court due to ethical violations related to her management of a border dispute with Cambodia.

Lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant

India’s largest Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery manufacturing plant was inaugurated in Haryana on 5 September 2025.
-
It will produce 20 crore battery packs annually, meeting nearly 40% of India’s 50 crore pack requirement.

The plant was set up under the Centre’s Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) scheme.
-
Li-ion batteries are rechargeable energy storage devices in which lithium ions shuttle between a graphite anode (negative electrode) and a lithium metal oxide cathode (positive electrode) through a non-aqueous electrolyte.
