Asia’s First Woman Train Driver Rekha Yadav to Retire

Asia's first woman loco piolet, Rekha Yadav, will retire on September 30.

She began her career with the Pune-Mumbai Deccan Queen Express and went on to drive freight trains, local trains, long-distance trains like the Rajdhani and Vande Bharat.

She worked in the Indian Railways for 36 years.

USA Increases H-1B Visa Fee by $8.8 Million

The U.S. has increased the H-1B visa fee by $8.8 million. This fee applies only to foreign applicants whose employers bear the visa cost.

This is considered a step to protect American jobs. The new rule will be effective for the fiscal year 2025.

Tamil Nadu became the first state in the country to appoint women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) as volunteers to help citizens access government schemes.

Around 1.5 lakh women are working as volunteers in the state. They receive training and easy access to loans in return.
