28th National Conference on e-Governance

  • The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) and the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), in collaboration with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, are organising the 28th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) 2025, in Visakhapatnam.

PM Modi to Visit Arunachal Pradesh

  • Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Arunachal Pradesh. He will lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth over Rs 5,000 crore at Itanagar.

  • Prime Minister will lay the foundation stones for two major hydroelectric power projects worth over Rs 3,700 crore and 10 other infrastructure projects worth ₹1,291 crore.

  • The hydroelectric projects include the 186 MW Tato Hydroelectric Project and the 240 MW Heo Hydroelectric Project; both located in the Shi Yomi District.

  • Tato Hydroelectric Project: Siyom River, 186 MW

  • Heo Hydroelectric Project: Yarjep River, 240 MW

World speed skating championships

  • India’s Anandkumar Velkumar clinched gold in the men’s 42km marathon and made history at the 2025 World Speed Skating Championships in China.

  • He won two golds and a bronze. It is his third medal at the ongoing event. 

  • Anandkumar became India’s first-ever speed skating world champion. His international breakthrough came in 2021 with a silver at the Junior World Championships a first for India followed by a bronze at the World Games earlier this year.

Australia Defeats India in ODI series

  • In Women’s Cricket, Australia defeated India by 43 runs in the third and final ODI at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

  • Australia won the series 2-1. Chasing a target of 413 runs, India were all out for 369 in 47 overs. Australia was all out for 412 in 47.5 overs.

World Teak Conference

  • Kerala hosted the 5th World Teak Conference (5th WTC) entitled ‘Sustainable Development of the Global Teak Sector – Adapting to Future Markets and Environments’.

  • This event took place at Grand Hyatt, Cochin, Kerala during 17-20 September 2025 and hosted by Kerala Forest Research Institute and coordinated by the International Teak Information Network (TEAKNET) India.

  • The past four World Teak Conferences were held in Costa Rica (2011), followed by Bangkok (2013) Ecuador (2015) and Ghana (2022).
