40-Nation Exercise 'Pacific Reach 2025'

  • Ship: INS Nistar (Indian Navy’s indigenous ship) joins the exercise

  • Event: 40-Nation Naval Exercise ‘Pacific Reach 2025’

  • Location: Singapore

  • Significance: This is INS Nistar’s first international deployment

  • Exercise Start Date: 15th September 2025

  • The ship arrived in Singapore for its first foreign voyage.

  • It will participate in the multinational exercise starting 15th September.

Bharatiya Model of governance

  • PM Modi highlighted the Bharatiya Model of governance, article of Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, originally implemented in Gujarat, which emphasizes inclusive development through "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas."

  • The approach focuses on last-mile delivery and digital governance, ensuring that development reaches every citizen efficiently and transparently.

  • This model is credited with setting India firmly on the path to Viksit Bharat 2047.

SPIN90 Protein

  • CSIR-CCMB (Hyderabad) scientists made a major discovery about how cells move and change shape.

  • They identified the protein SPIN90 as crucial for forming cell protrusions, helping immune cells chase and destroy pathogens.

  • The study was published in Nature Structural & Molecular Biology journal.

  • This discovery offers new insights into cellular behaviour and may help in understanding various diseases.

National Agriculture Conference

  • Rabi Abhiyan 2025 in New Delhi

  • Theme: ‘One Nation – One Agriculture – One Team’

  • India’s agriculture is growing at 3.7%, the highest in the world

  • Centre and States will work together for farmer welfare and national progress.

  • Strict action to be taken against spurious fertilisers, seeds, and pesticides.

  • Only biostimulants meeting standards will be allowed for sale.

‘Sarpanch Samvaad’ Conclave

  • Sarpanch Samvaad National Quality Conclave held in New Delhi, themed ‘Viksit Gram se Viksit Bharat’.

  • Organised by the Ministry of Jal Shakti in collaboration with the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

  • 75 Sarpanchs from 22 states participated, discussing 5 themes from Localised SDGs.

  • Aim: To bring 2.5 lakh Sarpanchs onto the digital platform for village development.

  • Announced launch of a 100-Day Good Governance Challenge on the app, from Sept 17 to Dec 25.

Speed Skating World Championships

  • Anandkumar Velkumar won India’s first-ever gold medal at the Speed Skating World Championships in China.

  • The 22-year-old speedster clinched the senior men’s 1000m sprint title with a timing of 1:24.924s, becoming the first Indian World Champion in speed skating. 

  • He also clinched bronze medal in the 500m sprint at the same championships in Beidaihe, where he clocked 43.072 s to secure India’s first senior Worlds medal.

FIDE Grand Swiss

  • Vaishali Rameshbabu has won the FIDE Grand Swiss tournament for a second consecutive year, sealing her victory with a final-round draw against former Women’s World Champion Tan Zhongyi (China) in Uzbekistan.

  • The 24-year-old Indian grandmaster finished the tournament with 8 points from 11 rounds.

  • Team India vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has reclaimed the top spot in the latest ICC Women’s Cricket ODI batting rankings.

  • Mandhana overtakes England skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt at the top of the batter rankings on the back of her half-century against Australia in the opening match of their ODI series.
