SHRESTH Initiative
State Health Regulatory Excellence Index (SHRESTH) initiative in New Delhi, launched by Union Health Secretary to ensure the quality of medicines.
SHRESTH initiative, proposed by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) Objectives:

to drive improvements in the performance of state drug regulatory authorities across India
-
to ensure that drug safety and quality standards are consistently met
It is a first-of-its-kind national initiative to benchmark and strengthen state drug regulatory systems through a transparent and data-driven framework.
15th Junior National Championship Women’s Hockey
-
Jharkhand Women’s Hockey team emerged as Champions consecutively in the second year in the 15th Junior National Women’s Hockey Championship, defeating Hockey Haryana by 2-1 in the finals.

The championship was being organised at Kakinanda in Andhra Pradesh.
-
Jharkhand Women’s Hockey team has won the Junior National championship for four times in the year 2018, 2019, 2024 and 2025.
-
Women’s Hockey team of Jharkhand has won the National Championship in all three categories viz Senior, Junior and Sub-junior in this year 2025.

First-ever medal in Wushu at World Games

India’s Namrata Batra has scripted history by winning a silver medal in the women’s 52 kg final at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China. She also won silver at the Asian Championships last year and is a four-time national champion.

It was India’s first-ever medal in Wushu at the World Games and the country’s second podium finish in World Games (first- Rishabh Yadav, bronze in Archery).

India have now won a total of seven medals in World Games history – one gold, two silvers and four bronzes.

Asian U19 & U22 Boxing Championships 2025

The U19 team claiming second place following Uzbekistan overall with a total of 14 medals—3 gold, 7 silver, and 4 bronze.

The U22 team earned 13 medals— 1 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze and ranked 4th.

Earlier this year, India’s younger U15 and U17 teams won a combined 43 medals at the Asian Championships, with the U15 squad earning the most golds at 11.

Drone-Based Artificial Rain Trial

India’s First Drone & AI-Driven Cloud Seeding Experiment conducted in Rajasthan at Ramgarh Dam near Jaipur, to induce artificial rainfall using around 60 drones, in collaboration with GenX AI (a tech firm with bases in the U.S. and Bengaluru) and the state Agriculture Department.

The experiment aims to enhance rainfall using advanced cloud seeding techniques.
Cloud Seeding Technique-

Cloud seeding is a weather modification technique that enhances rainfall by dispersing substances like silver iodide or sodium chloride into clouds for encouraging droplet or ice crystal formation.

Delivered via aircraft, drones, or ground generators, it’s used for drought relief, snowpack increase, and hail suppression, though results depend on existing cloud conditions.

Equator Prize 2025

Bibi Fatima Women’s Self-Help Group (SHG) from Teertha village, Dharwad district of Karnataka won the prestigious Equator Initiative Award 2025.

The Bibi Fatima SHG is the only Indian winner among ten global recipients from nine countries.

Bibi Fatima Women’s Self-Help Group

Formed in 2018 by 15 women, the group now supports over 5,000 farmers in 30 villages. It promotes millet-based mixed cropping on rainfed farms using eco-friendly natural farming methods.

It also runs a solar-powered millet processing unit producing value-added products.
